Upcoming Events:

What: Toy Shop- Sponsored by the Salvation Army, U.S. Marines, Kapco, and WTMJ 620 will collect and distribute toys to children throughout Milwaukee. This program allows parents to provide new toys to their children at Christmas. Volunteers will donate toys, sort toys by age and gender, and stock tables. 

Where: Toy Shop is located at 5880 N. 60th Street

When: December 18-20th and December 22, 2008 from 8:00am to 5:30pm with three split shifts.

MULYP has been a significant contributor to the Milwaukee community and has conducted the following community projects:

  • Tax Preparation Seminars
  • Fitness Seminars
  • Resume and Career Seminars
  • Milwaukee Urban League Black and White Ball
  • Professional Development Workshops
  • Voter Registration Drives

Community Impact

 

           MULYP members have contributed over 1,100 hours of volunteer service to the Greater Milwaukee Community.

   

            Held the first annual MULYP luncheon hosted by the Milwaukee Brewers and Brewers Charities at MillerPark. 

 

           A candidate forum for those running for Milwaukee School Board was held before the spring elections during a MULYP general body meeting. 

 

           A Financial Literacy Jeopardy game was held as part of the National Urban League’s National Day of Service.

 

           Participated in activities bringing awareness to causes such as Easter Seals, United Negro College Fund, The American Heart Association, Walk for Quality of Life, and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

 

           MULYP members collaborated with Milwaukee Urban League Guild members to host a polling site for the 2006 fall and 2007 spring elections.

 

          MULYP donated resources and volunteer hours to support the mission of the following organizations:
